Using the Parts Finder and Exploded Views Effectively
Exploded views show the technical assembly and the corresponding part numbers. However, it is crucial to open the correct catalog based on the model and series range. Only the OEM number identified there provides a reliable basis for selecting original or alternative parts.
To ensure a reliable selection, have the following ready
- Manufacturer and complete model designation
- Engine, drive, or transmission serial number
- Assembly and part location in the exploded view
- OEM number identified and desired quantity
Do not confuse the location number with the part number
The number next to a component in the drawing is usually just a location number. The actual part number is listed in the corresponding catalog and may vary depending on the production series. For kits and assemblies, you should also check which individual parts are included and whether old part numbers have been replaced by new ones.
Practical Tip: When submitting inquiries, include a screenshot of the drawing with the part location marked and the complete serial number.
