Sensors, encoders and transmitters for Suzuki outboard engines
Sensors and transmitters record physical values in the engine and convert them into electrical signals. The information is forwarded to the engine control unit or display instruments so that operating states can be monitored and engine functions can be controlled.
Typical sensors in the Suzuki outboard engine
Different sensors are used depending on the engine series and engine management system, for example

Sensors in the electronic engine management system
In modern Suzuki outboard engines, many sensor values are processed by the engine control unit (ECM). For example, the crankshaft position sensor reports the current rotational position of the engine. Without this signal, ignition and injection cannot be controlled.
The O2 sensor measures the oxygen content in the exhaust gas. This information is used to adjust the fuel-air mixture and optimize combustion.
Difference between sensor, encoder and transmitter
In technical terminology, the terms are often used in a similar way:
