Sensors and encoders for Honda outboards
Sensors and electronic encoders are a central component of engine management in modern Honda outboards. They continuously supply measured values to the engine control unit (ECM), which uses this data to control injection, ignition timing and engine running.
The most important sensor types include intake pressure sensors (MAP), air temperature sensors (MAT), knock sensors, crankshaft sensors and oil pressure sensors. These components monitor key operating parameters and contribute to optimum engine performance and engine protection.
Typical sensors in Honda outboards
